The Muhlenberg County Rail Trail starts here and runs six flat, paved miles to Central City. Greenville Country Club and Twin Oak Golf give you two courses in town. The county's fairgrounds and agriculture center host the fair and 4-H events. And Lake Malone State Park is a straight shot south.
Greenville is also where the county's hospital is — Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital — and where Muhlenberg County High School sits, which matters to a lot of families deciding between the two towns.
